Jeff and I were just in Washington, DC with the Organization of Biological Field Stations (OBFS) to share information about field stations with Congressional staffers. One of the topics Jeff and I spent a lot of time discussing with our state reps is the Sagehen Forest Project.One big issue is how project implementation is being held up by the lack of a market for our logs, since there is so much black timber from recent fires.
As a society, we are unintentionally sacrificing the living in order to scavenge the dead. Not good!
