Demo plot PhotoPoints

We set up a number of designated PhotoPoints within the two demonstration plots to capture starting conditions, as well as changes over time moving forward.

I've uploaded a zip file (88M) with all the demo plot PhotoPoint pre- and post-treatment photos, as well as GIS layers showing locations and plot outlines. Here is a sample pre- and post-treatment photo pair for 10 Point 1b:

August 9, 2011
9:00am – 4:00 pm
We will start and end promptly!

Goal:

Location:
We will meet at the Sagehen Turnoff at Highway 89North (if you need detailed directions, please reply and I will send them). Please park on the Sagehen Road. We will gather here and arrange carpooling.

Logistics:
The meeting will take place no matter the weather. Sun or rain (or snow) – the meeting will not be cancelled.

Please be sure to bring:

  • Your own lunch. We’re not providing lunch and there is not anywhere to buy lunch
  • Water
  • Layered clothing for cool to warm weather
  • Clothing that can get dirty – we’ll be walking in and amongst the marked areas

Useful tool

Here's a useful tool for all these meeting documents: an online file converter.

You upload files that you can't open because of incompatible software versions. The website converts them as you desire, then e-mails them back to you so that you can then open them.

You can also install a Compatibility Pack from Microsoft that will allow you to open new files with older software versions: For PC | For Mac

**DATE CORRECTION** The next meeting is Friday, March 4, 2011.

Hello Everyone,

Please note the following updates for the Sagehen Collaborative Project:

1) With significant help from Scott Conway (USFS, Truckee Ranger District) the Meeting Planning Committee has compiled a list of issues, questions, concerns and ideas raised since May 2010.  The list is attached here as a series of excel spreadsheets. Please note there are four (4) worksheets. The first spreadsheet is an explanation of the other three.

Download spreadsheets - Excel, 48K (right-click and save file).

Please feel free to send feedback to me on the issues, definitions, dispositions, et al. Please know we welcome and appreciate your feedback.

2) A subgroup has been working on collecting and calibrating historic and current vegetation and habitat data. The group has made significant progress and has developed a set of maps along with a DRAFT set of goals and preliminary treatment approaches.

To most effectively review both the issues list (#1 above) and the vegetation and habitat data (#2 above) we would like to meet in person with stakeholders.  The weather during the meeting scheduled for this Friday, 2/18/2011 is forecasted to be a fairly heavy snow storm, so we have postponed the meeting to March 4, 2011.

If the weather is difficult for travel on March 4, 2011, we will go ahead with the meeting with conference call and web-based presentation capabilities.

DATE CHANGE:
The Stakeholder Meeting scheduled for February 18, 2011 has been move to March 4, 2011.
